Our 2012 Program Catalogue is Here!
Take a Look at a Few of the New Classes and Events for 2012:

Sail Cam-Isle Event at Cama Beach State Park

Join CWB and Camano Sail & Power for a small boat sailing event over Labor Day Weekend! Cama Cabin Rentals are available, register to bring your wooden or non-wooden boat! (See page 5.)

Carolina Dory Boatbuilding

Join Camano Island boatbuilder Rick Kolin for a week of hands-on plywood boatbuilding at Cama Beach State Park! The Carolina Dory is a small utilitarian kicker boat built to take anything you can throw at it. After this 9-day intensive boatbuilding class you’ll return home with the skills to build your very own plywood fishing, crabbing or work boat. (See page 7.)

Back for 2012: Diesel Engine Theory!

Join the engineers of Arthur Foss to learn about Arthur’s 77 year-old diesel engine. The 2012 session will focus on overhauling cylinder one; you’ll get to pull the cylinder head and piston and preform repairs under the supervision of experienced diesel mechanics. (See page 9.)

Building a “Footy” Pond Boat for Youth Ages 10 – 16

Learn what makes a sailboat perform and then design and build your own custom pond boat.  At the end of the week, you’ll receive an official race number and race against other Footys in the Lake Union Park model boat pond. (See page 18.)

Science of Sailing for Youth Ages 9 – 11

Pacific Science Center and CWB have teamed up to create a week of fun, science-filled sailing! Delve into the math ans physics behind sailing and boat design. Spend your morning at PSC building model boats and conducting experiments, and then walk to CWB to spend your afternoon sailing in 8′ El Toro prams on Lake Union! (See page 21.)
