This Weekend: Cama Small Boats Saturday

Don’t miss CWB’s Small Boats Saturday at Cama Beach State Park! This event is free and open to the public and will be an informal end-of-season gathering of boatbuilders, boat enthusiasts, sailors, rowers, dreamers, voyagers, landlubbers, and everyone in between. Small boats will be on display both on land and in the water. Skills demonstrations, talks led by professionals, live music, and fun!

10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday October 16 at Cama Beach State Park. Free! Donations to help support CWB greatly appreciated.

Tentative Schedule:

10 a.m. – Eric Hvalsoe, professional boatwright and lapstrake expert, who will teach clench nailing and riveting skill

11 a.m. – Eric Harmon, canoe restoration expert

Noon – James McMullen, longtime amateur turned professional boatwright, who will talk about the various construction methods available to build a wooden boat

1 p.m. – Mark Reutan, professional boatbuilder who specializes in traditional skin-on-frame small watercraft

2 p.m. – Speaker to be announced
