2010 Lake Union Wooden Boat Festival

June 26, 2010

Dates: Saturday, July 3rd and Sunday, July 4th
Time: 10 am – 6 pm daily
Location: The Center for Wooden Boats & Lake Union Park, Seattle
FREE; Donations Accepted

The theme of the annual Lake Union Wooden Boat Festival is heritage wooden boats. The ambiance is that of an old-fashioned, down-home waterfront festival where everything is fun, almost everything is free and nothing much is fancy. It’s as authentically grassroots American as you can get and has been for the last 33 years.

The 2010 Festival will include: visiting vessels, free public boat rides on Lake Union, activities for kids including toy boat building and a scavenger hunt, craft and skill demonstrations, family boat building, food vendors, live music, and a 24 hour boat building race called the Quick and Daring.

Enjoy the nautical, folk, and blues tunes by Hounds @ Bay, Watch the Sky!, Cannery Row, The Whateverly Brothers, The Eric Miller Band and more on both Saturday and Sunday. Kick back under an umbrella and enjoy a cold brew in the pub, or enjoy a free boat ride on a classic wooden boat. There’s plenty for the kids too – from building toy boats to racing pond boats to enjoying the wind and waves on the waters of Lake Union.

Don’t miss the fun! Learn more about the 2010 Festival…
