Lake Union Clean-up at CWB
During the week of February the 18th, CWB and the Divers Institute began to undertake a joint project to clean the bottom of Lake Union. Every Thursday a group of divers in training will gather at CWB and spend half a day wandering around the bottom of Waterway 4 (the name of the Waterway where CWB is located) and will bring any trash they find to the surface. Once there, CWB staff and volunteers will document the trash then take it away to the dump. On the inaugural dive, some of the notable items were corrugated sheet plastic, a toilet, and a submerged log. In total the first dive brought up a 150 square feet of trash!
Stay tuned for more updates about this project.
